Cooking Class with Krysta

So, my amazing friend Krysta emailed me. She got on an email list for info about cooking classes at the Provo Asian market. They were teaching how to make Bobas and stir fry with udon noodles. We had just been trying to figure out how to make bobas because we love the boba smoothies at this place near the Green Panda. They are like 4.50 a shot however so we were STOKED to learn how to make them!
They made a winter melon drink with bobas and milk.
I bought these bobas. They are really good.

You strain them out of the hot water.

 Bobas.

 Melon Juice.
 Milk.
 Drink.

Next the delicious udon stir fry.
New ingredients. This asian BBQ sauce.
Fresh ginger, fresh garlic, onions, and the whites of the green onion.
 Shrimp soaked in cooking alcohol.
 Fish loaf.

 Noki Mushrooms.
This is like Fish bouillon.

Saute the veggies (except the tops of the green onions.)
 The class looking happily on.
Add fish loaf & shrimp.
Cool trick, don’t boil the udon before adding it. Just steam it on top of the veggies.

A few minutes later. Almost all done.
When it is almost all thawed, add a little sesame seed oil, a very little. Serve.
I love Krysta. It was amazing to be together. After the class we shopped and gathered ingredients. We talked, we drank mango juice and ate candy. A nice night out.
