Christmas Eve

Another Hite family Christmas!
I think this is our 7th Christmas together. 🙂
We had a party all planned at the Reddoch’s house.
We got there, and Betsy, who had been working hard all day, was busy in the kitchen. Luckily, she had an awesome little helper:

Asher helped too. Betsy asked him to put presents under the tree:

Then there was the Bacon/ Avocado debacle of Christmas 2012.
Betsy he missed the bacon, and Karl and I had missed the Avocado.
Betsy started right to work on the Bacon.

Nick ran out, stopping at two places, to get some avocado!
The boys were sad to see him go.

Luckily dinner was ready!

The boys had Cookies for dinner, among other things. As Betsy said, “It’s Christmas!”

After a dinner of Big Sandwiches we called mom and read the Christmas story.

Betsy used these little finger puppets with the boys.

We then read why Christmas is Nice.

We then opened sibling gifts.

After the party, we headed home to do our own Christmas traditions.

We started a new tradition this year, we call “the Christmas Eve Box”

Inside: Jammys for everyone, a Christmas movie (this year the 1986 classic, Scrooged), special movie treats, and a new Christmas ornament for each of us.

We put Mirah to bed, watched the movie.
We waited up for Belle, she was at work most of the day. She got home at midnight.
