Coming Home

So it was determined at around 8 AM last Friday morning that Mirah would need to go back on to oxygen, and come home with it. I bet you can guess…more tears from me.

As part of procedure, we had to spend abou 12 hours in the rooming in room.

After a week in the loud and ever more crowded NICU the rooming in room was so nice and quiet, it seemed almost wonderful. Mom and Dad were there to help out.

The hours passed, and she did very well.
We got her dressed and ready to leave.

Then we waited…for two hours…

We bundled her up in the car seat.

More waiting…

Dozing.

Finally a nurse we never met before came in to discharge us

And we were home!!!

Our first night home was so nice…she was up a few times, but it was so nice to have her home…lack of sleep was nothing new at this point.
First thing the next morning, family arrived!

A note:
Betsy, Nick, and the boys moved into Provo on this very same Friday. They arrived with the whole gang.

Karl’s parents and grandma Regina were in the party. Grandma Hite  was so excited to hold her.

We mostly napped the whole weekend.

We even had her first little bath at home.
