A Night Away

The day had come at last! I guess the night had come. We really try to go on an overnight date a couple of times a year. Usually around Valentines Day, and then around our anniversary. My beloved friend Krysta makes it happen. Thank you, Krysta. If you can’t tell by our faces, we are both SUPER excited to be out for the night!

We got to our hotel, The Double Tree, by Hilton in downtown SLC.

We stayed on the 6th floor.

We got our bags dropped off, and went out to dinner at the Stone Ground Italian Kitchen. They make all of their own pasta in house so we were ready to try it.

We sat down at the table. And looked at the menu.

The items that we picked:

The restaurant was across the street from the city library on the second floor.

I was so excited to try this hand made squid ink pasta.

We both ate off of each other’s plates, and we eat every bite.

On our way out.

We stopped on our way out to sit and chat at these little tables with fires.

Next we headed to the SLC Broadway theater to see Lady Bird.

Trying to get a picture was a tricky situation.

They didn’t sell any fountain drinks. So I got this fun bottle.

After the movie. You can tell that I had been sobbing.

After the movie we went back to the hotel and took a swim in the hotel pool. We got back to the room, watched the opening ceremonies.

The next morning, was amazing. We slept in until 9:30 AM, it was a dream. As we were getting ready to check out in the morning Karl realized he didn’t have his wallet. So we went back to the Theater. They didn’t open until 11:30 AM. Right next door to the theater was this place my sister Krystin loves called the Copper Onion. So while we waited for the theater to open, we went to brunch!

Feeling happy after breakfast, especially since the theater had his wallet!

After all of that, we headed over the Cedar Hills. Where my mom was meeting with the inspector of her new home!!
