After our fun boat tour, we were all a little hungry, so we set off to find a bodega near by and get some Mexican snacks.
It was simple enough, and everyone was happy to eat some Queso chips.
It was time to meet up with our group to see the dolphins. I have wanted to swim with dolphins ever since I was a little kid going to Sea World in San Diego. It just seemed like something only really rich people did. We are not very rich people. Don’t get me wrong, we are comfortable, but the only reason that we were able to pay for this is was my Christmas gift. Christmas 2017, all I asked for was money to go towards this excursion. My mom, Karl, Krysta all gave me money to go towards this. I didn’t ask for anything else. Additionally, Karl’s dad decided last year to give everyone an experience for their birthdays, he made a HUGE contribution to this. SO we have so many people to thank for making this possible for us. Thank you to Jim and Lynelle, to my mom, and Krysta, and Karl. It was truly an experience of a lifetime.
I was gitty with excitment as we lined up with our group to head over to the Cabo Dolphins building.
We followed our guide down the boardwalk.
We got checked in and changed into our wet suits. I was running late because I was dressing Mirah and myself. Photography was stickly forbidden. So we had to purchase pictures. IT WAS RIDICULOUSLY expensive.
I won’t go into all of the trouble we had there, it mars the whole experience. Instead I will show you the AMAZING time we had in the water with the dolphins.
Mirah and I did the Dolphin Swim. Here is our video
Lucas and Karl did the dolphin encounter. Here is their video:
Karl and Lucas’s group:
Mine and Mirah’s group:
Our trainer is Mariu and our dolphin is Nicoli (at least I think that was his name)
Lucas and Karl and Their dolphin whoes name I never got.
Feeding a dolphin… fish on his nose.
Karl and Lucas Dancing with their dolphin.
Then rubbing her tummy.
Then getting a kiss.
There were three different options to ride the dolphin. On it’s back, on it’s tummy, or underwater. Mirah wanted to do the tummy ride. Even so she was REALLY nervous, and you can see it on her face.
She was pretty excited by the end.
Back to Karl and Lucas, who were high five-ing their dolphin.
Karl was stoked to get into the water. And get a kiss!
Mirah and I were able to get into the water too.
The dolphin’s skin was so amazing. It seemed to open and close and it was just beautiful. He was so sweet with us.
Meanwhile back to Karl who was dancing!
He can have his little dance, because I was about to swim!!
Yes, that is pure joy on my face!!! My Sea World dreams were coming true!
Back to Karl and Lucas. THey were trying to get Luke to look at the camera and smile, but all he wanted to do was kiss the dolphin.
Sad he wasn’t kissing.
But happy he was touching a dolphin.
Then they had our dolphins, who were brother and sister, to do some jumps together. It was AMAZING to be so bear them. They were such totally animals. It was humbling and exhilarating to be so near them.
Mirah and I had a turn to be in the water together with them.
Mirah getting her turn at a kiss. `
Then my turn.
As we were getting out of the water the wind was picking up. The temperature was dropping. After getting dressed and swindled out of SOOO much money for pictures, we sat and took at little break at the cafe.
Our cruse director Marqu was there too!!
We got each of the kids a little dolphin toy.
We hung out at the facility for a little bit. Said hi to some birds.
Then said good bye to Cabo Dolphins.
