Our First Day, Pool time, and Dinner on the Ship

The kids were SERIOUSLY excited to go swimming. So we got into our swimsuits, and headed to level 5 to do the Carnival on Carnival. It was a tricky event. You see level 5 is where the night clubs and CASINO are. It is the only area of the ship that allows smoking indoors. And even though it was noon, people had started drinking. They were all verbally confused as why there were little children here. And we were equally confused as to WHY this event was held here. But the kids were excited, and we were too invested at this point to turn around so we decided to push through, and do our best to avoid the smoke.

There were little games set up down a row with prizes connected. Which we won NONE of.

The final station was a money grab wind tunnel that cost money to do, was run by two staff, one from Camp Ocean, and one of the Entertainment staff. They signed us up for the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast that next THURSDAY.

When we were invited to the event, someone told us that there was face painting.

The staff seemed confused when we asked about it, and since Mirah was excited about it, they begrudgingly did it for us. The man who helped Mirah was actually super sweet and did a great job, but getting there was kind of annoying.

On our way out they gave us popcorn and cookies

Just a quick note of the decor. Huh? Yes there are giant pink donuts everyone on the ship. Donuts with zebra strips.

It was at this point that I took a picture of this poster. It was the entertainment on the different nights on the ship. I reffed to this picture a lot over the course of our stay.

Then after all of that was over we FINALLY got into the water. THE FREEZING cold water. I am not sure why all of the water on the ship was SO SO SO cold, but it was an it was terrible and it made everything more complicated for us. When I write a review on their website it will say, FIX THE WATER HEATERS FOR ALL OF THE POOLS!

So instead of playing in the pools, we went and sat in this cool Jacuzzi.

Mirah was ready to dip, so we had to go over to the shower and wash off her face.

The water was short lived.

We got separated at this point because my card was wrong, so while getting it fixed they started in our the mandatory safety briefing where everyone must go to their muster stations. It was a stressful time. I was finally reunited with Karl and the kids.

After all of that, we headed back to the room to relax for a little bit before dinner.

Sunset was on the opposite side of the ship, so we got all bundled up becasue it was really windy and cold. (Like 50 degrees)  We went out to watch the sun set.

We had a great dinner. I had a shrimp cocktail and Cesar salad for apps, steak for dinner, and a Tiramisu for dessert.

Lucas had his first ever famous Carnival melting cake for dessert. Our assistant waiter helping him get started.
