Day two started with an exciting sighting of a Bison, that I failed to photograph.
We saw a big old Elk. I mean we got stuck in traffic for 15 minutes, but we saw it.
We spent the next half day, checking out the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. We started to head down the trail. And it was a bit too steep. So we headed back up.
Another angle.
Another angle.
Another one.
This is a good time to mention, Lucas was not into listening and following instructions on this trip. Or he would do what I asked, but in HIS way. Like I said, HEY Lucas, turn around, Let me take your picture. He Lucas, go up the stairs.
While there, the kids finished the required pages for their Junior Ranger badges. There is a pledge you have to do, and these rangers are SERIOUS.
They made their pledge, and got their badges!
We learned all about the super volcano that is Yellowstone national park.
My baby.
Today, we had PB and J and Baloney sandwiches for lunch. Karl told the kids about lunches he had like this when he was a kid, at national parks.
In the end, we found it, the best view of the falls and the canyon.
It was pretty crowded up there.
Grumpy Selfie.
The Caldera…
It was windy up there.
We saw a bear, he was just eating some flowers. I saw him really well, but forgot to take a picture until it was too late.
Tower Falls.
More elk! Or Mule Deer?
Little buddy.
