Summer is fading and fall in coming so we are in that time of year when you never quite know what the whether will be. It is the first weeks of September, and you know what that means: The Utah State Fair!
We got there and parked, as you can see below, in a lawn of a near by house. (We paid the owner)
We got into the Fair, and went to our favorite spot, home goods.
We love watching the lady at the spinning wheel.
Soon the Reddochs joined us and we were off on adventures.
Lucas with his “fanny” pack and map helping us know where to go.
Soon we found ourselves at farm land, and went on a farm to table adventure that started with aprons and ended getting paid.
We saw how they keep modern pigs.
How to milk a cow. Judah was disappointed because the cow old gave water.
We picked apples.
Planted seeds and harvested veggies.
We brushed a sheep.
Drove Tractor.
Then gathered some eggs.
FFA.
We got paid by a very grumpy kid.
Then went to the store and spent our earned dollar.
While snacking, we measured ourselves in hands.
Then we walked through the barns to see all of the farm animals. The kids of course found the candy. Judah especially was unhappy about the smells in there. Lucas was in awe of the huge animals. There were some of the most enormous cows I have ever seen.
Next we found the agriculture area, and we had fun looking at all the huge melons and squash.
There is a great kids area where you can pet a goat, or a bunny or even a puppy.
Then there were the wool bracelets. Everyone got to make one.
Lucas was mesmerized by the baby chicks.
There was even a new born cow. SO cute.
Back to the bunnies!!
It had started to get hot. And the kids were getting hungry so we headed to the food area.
Every cart had a draw, a place to take picture or something. Their favorite one was this rainbow unicorn:
We ended up getting elote, ribbon fried chips, lemonade, and big baked potato.
After lunch we went to the extreme dog show.
Then it was time to go.
After the fair, we spent the afternoon with the Reddoch kids and Betsy at the house. Betsy introduced us to her new boyfriend Chris. He was nice. The kids played as we got to know each other, and then we went to dinner at Chic Fillet.
