So, we have been talking about getting a puppy for a long time. And since we are stuck at home for the foreseeable future, it seemed like a good time to adopt. Lucas’s longing for a dog has been going on her years, but when he did this:
(Yes, he lined up all of his puppy toys and took a nap with them on the floor)
We knew it was time to get a more serious. After a weeks of looking around on KSL, we eventually found a breeder, and went to pick a puppy. They were out in Nephi, so we made a day of it.
Here he is, meeting Nacho for the fist time. He was ready to have real naps with his new puppy.
We didn’t know at this moment that the little guy on the left was our puppy when we took these pictures.
But by this picture we had chosen him.
We paid our deposit, and drove home. On the drive home we talked about names. I really liked Cheeto. Karl like random star wars names:
On the ride home we all agreed, mostly, that Nacho was a great name for our new puppy.
We got home, and Mirah made a calendar to count down to when we got to pick up Nacho.
The week passed, and we got all equipped to pick up our puppy.
We sadly got a call from the breeder this morning. Nacho had died. In fact, all the puppies in the litter had died. We were all heart broken. No one more than Mirah.
We told the kids right away. We didn’t want to hide it from them, so we spent the day doing puzzles and art therapy. Mirah made a Nacho Magnet.
And we did a Doug the Pug puzzle that Judah let us borrow.
We are working through it. Hopes for a new puppy soon.
