Our week of birthday preparations had come to a close with Karl and I staying up all night, draining, cleaning, moving, refitting, and refilling the pool so we could swim together for Lucas’s birthday.

Morning broke, and it was time for our birthday boy to be measured. Lucas has alwyas been a year ahead of Mirah on the growth board. This year, he is officially 2 years ahead of her! This kid is BIG!

We slowly got dressed.

Then headed down stairs for the birthday present balloon pile reveal.

As tradition dictates, we let him pick one gift to open. Lucas pick…his new googles.

We of course should mention Luna. She was a gift that counts towards all of our birthdays and mother’s day and father’s day this year.

It was officially a birthday. We were ready to rock n roll.

Lucas opened her gift:

It was a brand new RC car!!

Lucas was thrilled! It’s the kind of gift that you have to try out right away. He and Karl had fun out front for a while.

Next we check out all the Polo’s that family members had already sent Lucas.

We went out for breakfast, McDonald’s, and came home for the boys to set up some obstacles for Lucas’s new car to tackle.
