So at last, Karl took us all out to the river to enjoy some time with him. He had gotten a Kayak for his brithday, and had been enjoy time on the water by himself lots. So we wanted to share some of the fun with us. We went to Class Ropes Course near Utah Lake, where we knew we could rent a Canoe. We brought the Kayak, so I could give it a go. The kids were excited by the idea…
Until they were faced with the idea of getting into the boat that was sitting in the water. Lucas was crying a freaking out and it took all of our combined powers of convincing to get him into the canoe.
It took some wrangling but we were all in our boats.
It was so much fun to watch these kids have fun together. Poor Karl had to fight them and move them all around.
What they lacked in actual talent for canoeing, they also lacked in desire to help canoe.
We were having a ball, we saw a BIG toad on a branch in the water.
Then we passed these trees, covered in cotton wood cotton, I mean I hope. If it is spider webs I am gonna throw up.
Only now, was Lucas KIND of getting into it.
It was fun, we were out on the water for a couple of hours. And by the end, everyone was having a nice time.
We stopped at a Farm Stand on our way back home, and bought a load of corn. We at JUST buttery corn for dinner. It was perfect.
That night after the kids went to bed, Karl went out to get us a pizza, as a part of our Anniversary weekend. It’s one of those things we do when we take a night away, we order pizza and eat it late at the hotel. Cuz we can. While he was gone, Luna and I watch a fireworks show…
She was a little worried.
We had late night pizza in bed, and watched a movie. Pretty great day.
