Well the house was ours, but we still had to wait for the previous owners to move into their new house.
So for a while, all we could do was dream. We were hit with a problem early on, when the owners told us they would no longer be selling us their playset. We had agreed we would pay them cash for it, then they started to look around and decided that it would be too pricey to get a new one, so they were going to move it. This was really infuriating to me. But what could we do? So we were left to decided how to get a new one. Karl and Mirah dreamed up this little set:
We visited the house again and took measurements, and talked and dreamed about how we would start placing the furniture:
On Monday January 18th, the Schartings were mostly out. Ric was still going to be working out of the garage for the week, but we could start moving furniture into the house. SO Karl had the day off, Martin Luther King day, and we had some amazing friends offer to help, the Raynes. Sydney took the kids for the day:
They went to the park, had cinnomon twists and basically just had the best time. They also added a fun new Meme to our family:
Baby Yoda and Chicky Nuggies.
Mean while, David Raynes, me, and Karl moved everything we could. We moved all of the movies, books, storage, games, everything from the basement including the guest mattress AND the trampoline. I was neck need in sweat and moving when everyting else was going on, but the thing I was there to simply document was David and Karl moving/walking the tampoline from our old house to the new one. Right as we started it got suddenly cold and started to snow.
Here’s how they did it:
They got it on it’s side to roll it out of the backyard, they only got it a little bit stuck on the tree.
Carfuly avoiding the house, the car, the grill and me, they rolled it out to the drive way.
Their first plan was to get in onto some long boards and to roll it down the road…
That plan was quickly abandoned and the guys decided just to walk it down the street.
Then the two block walk began
Yes, it’s still snowing.
David said the worst part was how cold his hands were from holding the freezing metal.
Looking tough after a break:
Then back to walking!
I drove ahead. It only took them a few minutes, but by the time that they got down to the house it had gotten dark and the snow was really going.
Looking tough!
And we made it!
In it’s new home, in our new backyard! Happy that is over.
We got back to the house and Luna had been digging. She knew she was in trouble when she saw my face. I didn’t even have to really yell at her, she knew.
The kids were having a ball this whole time. Sydney was so sweet. She sent me pictures and videos of their whole day:
My kids LOVED to play with their baby Quinn, and then they played the pie face game and they had a hilarious time:
After Monday we were beat, but we had lots to still do.
On Tuesday Malia and Mom came and we moved the whole kitchen.
I started to have rose colored glasses and start to miss the only house and my favorite view from the couch in the front room.
On Thursday the painters came and started to paint the upstairs bedrooms. (They finished on Friday)
On Friday, Whitmores came and we moved the piano and the rest of the big furniture. We moved the Piano, the couches, and the beds. The new washer and dryer also arrived on Friday!
After all of the heavy lifting we did this week, I was amazing to see these guys move them so quickly and easily!
Ta da!! Installed! SO stoked about this!
Friday night was our first night in the new house. I tried to take a bath in the new tube. UM it was a learning experience. The jets needed to be cleaned for starter:
Also the back jets need to be totally super covered with water if you don’t want the whole room covered in water… which it was.
Saturday morning, the Elder’s Quorum helped us move the rest of the back yard and garage. And then we were out.
Goodbye house. We loved you.
