Monday started like every other day of the trip-at the hotel continental breakfast. It was so great.
You could tell that we really loved it.
Back at the Litster’s house.
This shirt. Being with someone in their hometown, you learn so much about them. Like Adam’s Senior Class orchestra t-shirt.
The adventure of the morning? We were going to Simplot Hill, for the Litster brothers to go “grass skiing.” The story goes that Eric read about them in a library book, and then he got a pair. He got a second pair years later, and now there are two. So every now and then during a visit they come out, and whoever is game takes a try.
Adam and Simon.
We got there, and got set up. Janey in her infinite wisdom brought chairs and a blanket for the kids.
We got all set up.
And the boys went up to the top of the hill while the ladies and kids sat at the bottom, ready to record!
The kids used the zip ties to make art-then had to stop because Eric needed them to fix his grass skis.
Kids.
Mirah and Lucas made me hearts.
Meanwhile Karl was driving his car around all the time, even finding a ball to scoot around with.
This guy. SO happy.
It was taking those guys FOREVER to get going!
FINALLY!
These cuties.
Looking good Eric!
Buddy.
Another run.
Here he comes!
We did it.
So funny, so perfect.
One with Grandpa!
Right near the hill, was the very country club where Adam and Belle met 10 years ago. Right behind them, at the pool where Adam was a life guard, and the club house where Belle was a waitress and they both served over privileged kids, and got to know one another. They loved Avatar the Last Air Bender…they liked each other.
In an effort to get a pic in front of the sign, we all got in.
The money shot.
We headed to check out Boise’s West End. We went to Goody’s where Adam would always go to after middle school dances.
I wanted one of these but Karl wouldn’t let me.
The kids all had sweet treats. Mirah got a giant jaw breaker. Lucas got a big lolly, and I got a little lolly for Simon.
Kids.
The kids were being so cute together this morning.
You guys I learned the secret to making kids happy: give them lots of candy!
For lunch:
Delicious lunch, worth the wait.
I mean look at these things:
We went to a park and dug in:
The cheese was my favorite.
The park had lots of fun equipment.
And old friends! Yes Micheal and Gwenna and their two cutie kids were at the park.
This is Maggie. She is perfect.
Mirah, still loving her jaw breaker.
