There is nothing better than a birthday party.
And a 3 year old nephew is really something great to celebrate.
Reese turned 3 yesterday and we were all invited over for a little celebration.
Reese asked for a Rainbow birthday party. So his sweet wonderful mother leaned into it.
She made this incredible rainbow cake, and wore these awesome shoes. She had rainbow plates, and forks, and napkins and some radical place mats. She even got a rainbow table cloth that was really cool until the boys ripped it before the party.
People were invited to dress in rainbow. Belle had this awesome sweater. Mirah had her rainbow shirt. Karl wore his rainbow tie dye. Krystin had a rainbow tank top. Luke didn’t have a rainbow shirt so we had him wear his most colorful shorts. I dressed my family, then totally forgot once I got my shirt on. 🙁
The moment the kids got together they got busy playing. I was so happy to see how well they all played together. Reese got these great blocks for his birthday.
I tired to get a video. I LOVE the way Sloan laughs. He laughs with his whole face and body. He is just such a happy boy. Such a sweet, funny, cute boy.
I was trying to shoosh the kids, but that was impossible.
It was right around this time that Kelly brought Ash out. Their new baby boy. He is perfect and precious and I just wanted to hold him and kiss him…but I didn’t, kiss him. My heart.
The kids at this moment got dressed up in super hero costumes, and again my heart swooned at how cute they were all being.
I had to line them up and get a picture of them together.
Lucas was especially loving running around with a cape. He was so cute and fun.
And then the stampede rolled by!
Kelly needed to finished decorating the cake, and so, I FINALLY was offered the lovely little boy.
He’s so responsive and engaged and sweet. We just stared into each others eyes for ever. He was the best.
Look at this face!
Out in the yard…
While I got to hold a sweet baby, my little lady baby was being held by one of MY sisters.
Mirah loves her Auntie Krystin so much.
Eventually, I let Cam take little Ash back from me. He was in good hands.
Cam is such a sweet dad. He loves his kids so much.
Bye buddies.
Ash loved to be outdoors.
Back inside, Belle and Karl discussed the season finally of survivor. AND yes, Karl is still wearing the Batman cape.
We talked to the boys. Reese was nervous around us today.
Yes, Kelly told Chelsea not to have a baby. “Don’t have a baby.” You have to admit, she looks like a natural.
Speaking of babies.
The kids were ready to come in a have some cake.
So we cleaned up and they sat together looking cute.
We opened gifts. We got him a Ninjago spinner and spider man walkie talkies.
Lucas sat at the table the whole time we opened gifts.
He knew we were having cake and he was going to wait patiently for it.
After gifts from us and her grandparents, it was cake time!
Three sparklers, for three sparkling years.
Aunt Krystin, helped little boy to blow out his candles.
The cake was moist and delicious.
The birthday boy scarfing his cake.
Lucas was SO happy to have it.
After cleaning up the party, but before we left, I gave Kelly mom’s gift for Ash.
Boys. Birthdays. Babies. Rainbows.
