Our plans on the trip back home were pretty loose, and since we were passing up our old town, Rexburg, we decided to see somethings we had never seen together, and show the kids the places we used to live.
Karl had never been to the Ashton Sand Dunes, or the Egin lakes. So we drove out there on our way through.
We went to the Egin lakes, and were able to get in with our National Parks pass.
They were just as I remembered them. Shallow pools of water in the middle of the sand dunes.
It was early morning, and the water was still COLD. So the kids slowly got in.
Karl was excited to see this place I had told him about over the years, he thought at one point I had made it up.
We splashed around for a while, looking at the cool bugs, and fish, and grasses that live there.
Grumpy Selfies.
Walking back to the car was the most unpleasant part, the kids didn’t have shoes on, and the wet sand just wouldn’t shake off.
We got Lucas changed, and the kids settled into the car. Then headed right into the heart of Rexburg.
We drove past our old apartments at University Courtyard:
Which lead us past the Ricks Building and the Temple.
