Here she is, with her new backpack, her new shoes, and a new dress. The day had finally come, the first day of SECOND GRADE!

Her sweet dad hung back to make sure to see her off before she went to the bus stop.

We did all the stuff that a school day requires. We did our piano practice, and chores.

We arrived as the bus was pulling up, and our goodbye was rushed but sweet.

Well, I had PTA stuff to do at the school, so Lucas and I went to the school to meet up!  Lucas was in heaven running around with the older kids.

Wonder of wonders, Mimi is on Mirah’s bus!! The get to sit together every day. Cooper was there too, very excited to see the girls.

TOO BRIGHT.

They all walked the red carpet of high fives!

 

Mirah greeted both of her teachers.

The school did the pledge together.

And then they were off.

Hours later, and disheveled tired looking princess stepped off of the bus.

She was tired, and over stimulated, and apparently confused explaining her first day of second grade:

Babies, together again.

Karl rushed home early to be with Mirah as she was telling us all about her first day. I filled out the emergency contact paper, and was so excited to put my parents on the list, cuz they live here now…well soon!

I think it’s going to be a very good year.
