After getting our luggage stuck in the tiny elevator, a crazy shuttle ride to the airport, we made it onto our flight. And were headed home.
After 6 hours in the air, we suddenly noticed our flight at diverted course. The captain then told us that the sewage system was not blocked up and only 2 of the toilets were working. They were going to have to take an emergency landing in Detroit.
We took this one pretty hard.
Above Detroit.
We landed, went through customs, checked and then rechecked our bags. Had a very confusing transfer to another plane…
I called mom, and let her know we would be late.
When we got onto the plane, the pilot reminded everyone not to flush diapers down the toilet. YUP, someone flushed a diaper down the toilet, and that was why we had to land. Three hours later we were landing in SLC.
(Those colorful lights on the right are Luminaria!)
We were supposed to land at 1:30, but didn’t land until 6.
Dad got us home, and it was only 7:30.
Mom had made us a delicious dinner.
And the instant we go there the kids wanted to show us everything that we had missed. Everything that they had made in school, and at science camp, and in their free time.
We got all the gifts out for the kids. And mostly just hugged. I missed these faces painfully bad.
Home again, home again.
