We arrived a half hour early. We got all of her stuff into the changing room of the font then all of Mirah’s pictures taken.
Looking GREAT in the Pipkin family dress.
Karl looking dapper in his jump suit.
Time number three that I cried today:
Time number four:
Time number five, surprising mom with Mirah in the dress.
Grandma gave her a bracelet to be baptized in.
Time number six, when dad took of his mask for the picture. I think he was crying too.
Time number seven, holding my mom for the first time in 9 weeks, on the day of my beloved daughter’s baptism.
Yeah, I lost count after this…
Feeling pretty amazing.
Lucas on the other hand…was not happy. He was done with pictures by the time that Grandma and Grandpa Hite arrived.
But we still got some nice ones with the Hite family.
Grandma and Grandpa and their Mirah.
Karl, with his mother and father, and his Mirah.
It was time for the baptism to begin. A couple named the Anderson’s had gotten everything ready. They were happy to do their callings, and said not to worry, they needed the blessings. Brother Bill Stewart filled the font. He was so confused about it being on Sunday. He had actually assumed it was on Saturday, and come in and filled the font. He only realized his mistake as it started to be time and no one was there.
Lucas had fun moving chairs.
We were able to stream to 17 screens. A few people including both of her school teachers couldn’t get on. But all of my siblings, except Belle who was on a plane, all of the Hite Siblings. Devanie, Krysta, Kristin Beckstead, tons of friends from the ward. It was so overwhelming the number of people, and the amount of support we felt, even though the room was nearly empty.

It was tricky getting Lucas to sit still, and to not mess with the computer. AND I forgot to tell Karl about the spotlight, and forgot to DO the spotlight. My pill alarm went off while we were getting Mirah changed.
My Dad’s talk on Baptism was beautiful. LOTS of tears. He talked about the plan of salvation, about the blessing of our bodies. That Mirah was born, but that her body was weak, and even though she was weak then, she is strong now, and she has grown to choose for herself. That she comes from a long line of people who chose. Those who crossed the seas and the plains to do what they thought was right, and followed what they believed. He showed pictures of my Grandma Denny, and knew she prays for Mirah from the other side. He felt, as did we all, that those who came before were with us in the room.
Then Karl baptized Mirah. DREAM come true, something I was overwhelmed to witness. I was full to overflowing with love and gratitude.
My faith has been challenged over the years. Being in the room, when the spirit is SO strong, it feels like you can see it, these moments uplift and sustain me. I will never forget this day.
After the baptism, I took Mirah into the hall. I gave her a little handle, that had been given to me by my companion Sarah Smallcomb. We used little knobs like this, to teach an object lesson about the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Imagine that you are in a room, with a door with no handle. On the other side of the door is the Holy Ghost, he has a door handle. When you get the gift of the Holy Ghost, it is like you getting a door handle on your side of the door, and you can be with him any time. I gave her this little knob, that was so important to me. So she would remember she has a gift, that she can use to bless her life.
It was amazing day.
