So Betsy and Nick were off checking out what houses Provo had to offer, we walked with Krysta, Zac, Karen and boys down town for lunch and a ward activity.
We went to Station 22, a great local joint with local produce and a commitment to organic stuff, I think… Things were great before the food arrived. We brought toys, snacks, and lots of stuff for diversion, we thought we were set!

Krysta ended up coming over and helping so we could eat.
After we ate, we walked across the street to the Tabernacle excavation site.
All the boys could see however was…PARK!
It was quite an educational experience. The excavation site was all about the old tabernacle, a building that was used and torn down after the current tabernacle was constructed.
There were three stations, each focused on different things.
The first station was all about the artifacts that have been found in the dig.
Different kinds of glass bottles. We learned that if they found a glass bottle, that was purple, it is because it is made with manganese. It was originally clear, and manganese was a clarifying agent. Overtime, however, it oxidizes and turns purple. They only used this method of clarifying during the turn of the last century, so they can tell when it was made.
There were tons of kids from our ward there. This is a combination of the Argyles and Campbell’s. I serve with their mothers on the Cub committee.

Station 2 was a dig! Well, kind of. They were just able to sift through buckets of dirt.
The Cores! Mejken and I are in the Primary Presidency together.

It was time to switch to the last station, and Krysta and Zac helped us wrangles the babies.

You need at least like, four people to make twins doable.
Station three, the Dig.
The old and new tabernacle used to stand next to each other. They used the old tabernacle as a gym for a while, but then knocked it down when it got too old.
This area used to be class rooms.
The plan is that they will dig it all up, because the area will need to be used for the temple.
One worker hopes that they will use at least a part of it for a reflecting pool. We will see.
We were tired, it was windy and chilly, and we walked home exhausted.
I feel like you can finally feel my pain: needing at least 4 people to make going out in public possible, having a baby stick their hand down your shirt, babies grabbing at your food from every direction. It's all part of my awesome life 🙂 Luckily they are so cute it's worth it.
I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous of you folks right now. Oh man! How fabulous is all of that! We miss you and love and all that and end of sentence.
