So they gave the kids Friday off for a teacher training day, I guess.
Karl was getting a little burnt out from work these days so her was happy to take the day off.
After a late start, we headed up South Fork Canyon to the South Fork Park, with the RC cars.
And Luna came too. She makes all of our little outside outings a little more fun and exciting.
Lucas got a rock in his shoe. Undeterred by the wet wet soaking wet grass, Lucas sat down and got it out. His bum was pretty wet at this point.
There was lots of snow free grass around, but everyone wanted to ride their RCs on the snow.
Lucas still had his brief case.
And Karl went over to the ice to have fun with Luna and his speed machine. Lucas slowly walked over with his little car.
The action:
Lucas’s wheels were full of snow!
The kids batteries were about dead, so the three of us left Karl and Luna to go do some exploring.
HIYA! They had their walkie talkies, and were YELLING into them.
Eventually Luna tired out and Karl’s batteries all died too. Luna was ABSOLUTLEY soaked. She looked feral.
We went wondering around enjoying the warmish day. Lucas found an ice hillside and decided that he would take a slide.
Weeeee.
If I thought his bum was wet at first, it was drenched as we made our way out of the park.
We stayed for a little over an hour, but we were all tired as we walked back to the car.
We drove through and got burgers for lunch, then we went upstairs and did a Kiwi Co.
This time I helped Mirah, and Karl helped Lucas.
Mirah’s tinker crate was a project that showed her how to make a spin art kit. First we prepped the box and installed the motor in the bottom.
Then we got the spin plate attatched to the motor.
Meanwhile Lucsa and Karl built a treasure chest. They made some big gold coins and built the box out of fitted cut slates of wood.
Back with Mirah, we were making a bead board.
She created a circuit!
Now connected to a battery, we were set to make some art!
The kids took turns making works of spin art. Mirah was very kind to share with Lucas.
Karl and I were pooped, so was Luna.
Lucas on the other hand, was ready for s pirate adventure!
After dinner, we made a mountain of popcorn and watched a new movie that just came out on Disney +
Raya and the Last Dragon
It was fun to snuggle up and enjoy a fun story together.
A great day together as a family.
