Pioneer Day 2019: Park City

Maryn!!!! Yes Maryn arrived!!!

So the family was supposed to get together for a little reunion this summer. BUT a couple months before hand, Mom and Dad canceled. This didn’t help Maryn, who as a very dutiful daughter would, had already bought her plane ticket. She arrived in the morning at our place, and we headed right out to have a fun day out in Park city. The drive up the canyon was so nice, the kids were so happy to be in back with their fun Auntie.

I was up front, playing DJ. It was a FULL 90’s tour of all of our favorite bands.

We arrived, and got in line, signed our wavers…

And went straight up to the Alpine coaster!

The kids were feeling nervous, but were always up to have an adventure.

We had talked about doing this as a family as a part of our reunion. So we went up together anyway.

Karl and Mirah together. And Maryn on her own.

IMG_1716.JPG

Oh my goodness I love this kid. He was so excited as we started up the hill.

IMG_1717.JPG IMG_1719.JPG IMG_1720.JPG

The ride was fun, we didn’t break once. Lucas was laughing and yelling and giggling the whole ride down. We got down to the bottom and no sooner did we get out of the cart, then Karl and Mirah arrived behind us. Mirah had a great time.

As close as Karl and I were…it took Maryn full 5 minutes to arrive. She was feeling worried, and may have braked a bit too much.

Back in line…

IMG_1726.JPG IMG_1727.JPG

We got in line and my anxiety about Luke jumping off the lift was real. We practiced how to act on the lift.

We took bathroom breaks, Karl grabbed my boob, and Lucas very very carefully brought me some water.

After waiting nearly an hour, (It had rained a little bit) we FINALLY got onto the lift.

Smiling through the anxiety!

IMG_1750.JPG IMG_1749.JPG

I think we may have made Lucas a little TOO nervous.

After a VERY pleasant ride up we grabbed our carts and got in ANOTHER line.

Maryn and Mirah got on the SLOW slide.

CUTIES!!

IMG_1768.JPG IMG_1767.JPG IMG_1769.JPG

Karl, Lucas, Mirah’s hat, and I went on the fast slides. The left before us.

IMG_1763.JPG IMG_1772.JPG

Ready, set….GO. We FLEW down the mountainside.

IMG_1776.JPG IMG_1778.JPG

I caught air, and had a BLAST speeding down the slide. Karl not too far behind. Lucas LOVED IT.

IMG_1779.JPG IMG_1780.JPG

MINUTES later, look who arrived together… (hahahahaha) These two. Maryn said this was the best part of her whole day.

IMG_1781.JPG IMG_1782.JPG IMG_1783.JPG

Buddies forever.

IMG_1784.JPG

Karl found a place for all of us to eat, and Maryn found rice crispys.

Bye bye park city.
