Off to Colorado!!!

So we had planned to leave first thing Monday morning, but then decided that we would leave after church on Sunday.

We booked a room at the Red Roof Inn in Grand Junction.  We had some peaches we were eating in the car. Lucas ate off all of the skin and then handed it to me.

We were excited to finally get to Colorado!

We pulled over when we saw the sign.

I have been hearing stories about Grand Junction and Fruita Colorado for years, so I was stoked to finally see them for myself.

The kids were just stoked to have their tablets and were happily watching under the covers of their blankets.

As we got closer to Colorado National Monument everything was looking so red and beautiful.

the monument to Mike the headless chicken.

If you have never heard of him:

Well, it all happened in Frutia Colorado.

So we went to check out the memorial and tell the kids the gruesome story.
