There were lots of people there. Not much parking. So we walked up the wide path. The falls were beautiful.
We were happily surprised with our little detour.
This little bed head lady with a sweet smile and and messy hair. Ready and happy to have an adventure.
She was in love with the water and the noise. She just wanted to jump into the water and swim. |

We began to climb up and up around to the side of the falls.
Karl tried to show the kids how to whistle with grass.
The the path took us behind the falls!
There were trails all around the falls. We found another one, and followed it over to another area.
There were little caves all along the cliff side.
Oof, poor Lucas.
Up up up to the top off the falls.
There were all of these little platforms that hang over the sides so the views are better. It was really cool.
There were boardwalks running above the water. It was so cool, to watch the water rush away from under you and over a cliff.
Another little platform.
Then the hike down.
They played in a little muddy river in the shade for a while.
We found the biggest and coolest cave of all.
Then another tiny one.
And another tiny one.
We made it to the bottom of the falls and and took some time to all put our feet in.
Back on the road again. The drive was beautiful.
A few hours, loads of traffic, and naps for the kids later, we finished our drive.
