Friday morning I finished paying off our hospital bills for 2018. Sigh, it was a costly year in hospital bills.
At bed time, I was getting the kids into their PJs. Mirah gets SO distracted at bed time, I decided that I would sit on the floor in her room to make sure she kept busy. While laying on my stomach in her room, I told Lucas he could watch his tablet that had been charging in my room. We had been napping all day, and dinner was late. So I was getting them into their PJ’s while Karl was finishing dinner. The plan was to put them straight to bed after dinner. Mirah was almost dressed, when Karl called, “Kids! Dinner is ready!” Lucas, ready to eat ran quickly, tablet still in hand, tripped and fell head first in to the door in my room.
The split didn’t bleed at first, and really not much at all, but it was deep, and seemed to get wider the more time went by.
Karl fixed him up with some butterfly bandages, and made a sign on the chalkboard in the kitchen to express his feelings.
Flash to the next morning, because it wasn’t bleeding, I took Lucas to the Pediatrician that next day, to fix his head.
He didn’t like the light, and was a bit annoyed about it being shined in his face,
but it gave us a really good view of his cut:
Dr. Adams cleaned it, smooshed it, glued it up, and then steri stripped it. THEN he put a cute little Iron Man band-aid on.
Our doctors appointment caused us to be a bit late to tumbling tots. Since he wasn’t bleeding I didn’t worry about taking him. He was doing so well…we joined an available group, he did some head stands. He seemed fine, so I took a step out of the room to send a few texts and an email. As I hit send and was going to make a phone call I head the sound of Lucas crying.
Yep, he had falled and hit his head hard on the floor, so we quickly left for home.
This boy, this sweet cute amazing CLUMSY boy.
The fall did leave a little mark. You can see it next to the scar on his eyebrow.
