Happy Thanksgiving!!! It was a really nice day.
We started with a little Thanksgiving morning breakfast/surprise. I got Karl a box of “Thanksgiving Cereal.” The story goes that the Hite family didn’t get a lot of sugared cereal growing up, and when they did it was for special occasions like birthdays and holiday breakfasts. Apparently when Karl was a little kid, they had Golden Crisps (Or Smacks) for one Thanksgiving breakfast, and MONTHS later he asked his mom for “Thanksgiving Cereal.” So the Hite family calls this cereal thanksgiving cereal. So I bought him a box. So he could have it on Thanksgiving. Is that clear? 😉
We had little smokies, which is basically a holiday breakfast tradition that came from my side of the family. We learned how to make them from sister Johnson in seminary. The Branny really was the one who started to make them at home.
Breakfast! With just out little group-the fantastic four!
Flash forward it was time for guests to arrive. We had the tables set, and apps set out.
Karl was all ready with this amazing turkey.
The guests included My mom and Dad, The Whitmores, and Krystin and her room mate.
Dinner was served!
Kids table!
KP and her roommate.
Zac loading up a plate!
My Lucas and Mirah. Also in the back ground you can see some of Mirah’s decorations.
Krysta and Zac.
My perfect plate.
Mom and Dad.
Pie time!! We had a creme brulee chocolate crust pumpkin pie, Karl made, at my request. Bruleed fresh…
It was pretty good. KP made a homemade Bourbon pecan pie, and the whitmores brought a marie calendar’s French chocolate creme pie.
All in all a pretty great meal, and a nice low key Thanksgiving.
