Paris Day 7: Mount Saint Michel and Back to Paris

Bright and early the next morning! The room was old and dark. Comfy, with a bathroom twice the size of the one we left in paris, and 3 times the size of the one we would get to later that night. The light was too bright.

We both got ready, as I had a fun look out our window.

IMG_1529.HEIC

It was so enchanting.

The rest of it was pretty great too.

After breakfast, we went on an early morning wander through all the pokey streets and shops of the village.

It was a wet cool morning.

We found an awesome little church.

IMG_1575.HEIC IMG_1576.HEIC
IMG_1577.HEIC IMG_1578.HEIC

Then got tickets for the Medieval museum. A random set of random curiosities and from who knows really when.

IMG_1582.HEIC IMG_1583.HEIC IMG_1586.HEICIMG_1584.HEIC

We got access to this beautiful little courtyard.

IMG_1587.HEIC IMG_1588.HEIC IMG_1590.HEIC

And the dungeons.

Where supposedly they had kept prisoners at one point in the islands history. Down there was also this scary crazy wax figurine thing.

IMG_1591.HEIC IMG_1592.HEIC
IMG_1594.HEIC IMG_1596.HEIC

After the Louvre and Versailles, it was just, well, pretty crappy.

IMG_1597.HEIC IMG_1598.HEIC

Next we visited the resident “Knight’s” home.

He apparently had taken a vow of chastity, so his wife had to wear this little number:

IMG_1600.HEIC IMG_1601.HEIC

Yikes.

This was the home they shared.

Back down to the shops.

IMG_1616.HEIC IMG_20191115_114224.jpg IMG_1618.HEIC

Down to the beach.

IMG_1625.HEIC

Where Karl flew his kite.

IMG_1660.HEIC IMG_1661.HEIC

IMG_1659.HEIC

IMG_1663.HEIC IMG_1664.HEIC

Farewell!!!

IMG_1666.HEIC IMG_1668.HEIC IMG_1671.HEIC

We made it down to the visitors center, and got what was called, the “Mega” Pain Au Choclat

IMG_1675.HEIC IMG_1676.HEIC IMG_1677.HEIC

The place was so funny. It had cows for some reason.

IMG_1678.HEIC

IMG_1674.HEIC IMG_1680.HEIC IMG_1681.HEIC

Spider cow!!

IMG_1682.HEIC IMG_1683.HEIC IMG_1684.HEIC

Our bus was to leave at 2:00, we were on it at 1:55, and we headed back to Paris. We sat and held hands and listened to podcasts together.

IMG_1685.PNG

It was pretty wonderful, one of the best parts of the whole trip honestly.

IMG_1686.HEIC

We drove through little villages, and passed trees full of mistletoe.

IMG_1687.HEIC IMG_1688.HEIC
IMG_1692.HEIC IMG_1693.HEIC

It was dinner time once we were back in the city. We got checked into our new hotel, more on that later, and found a place to eat in our new neighborhood.

We wanted to see what french Mexican food was like. So we went to a place called Bocamexa.

IMG_1698.HEIC IMG_1699.HEIC IMG_1700.HEIC
IMG_1701.HEIC IMG_1702.HEIC IMG_1703.HEIC

It was pretty good.

Karl was stil hungry, so we stopped and he got another donner.

IMG_1704.HEIC IMG_1707.HEIC

We scouted out other places to eat.

IMG_1708.HEIC IMG_1709.HEIC

Crepes and tacos!

IMG_1710.HEIC IMG_1711.HEIC

IMG_1712.HEIC

IMG_1716.HEIC IMG_1713.HEIC IMG_1714.HEIC

We even found a grocery store that sold a Milka advent calendar.

Piled into the TINY elevator, and got to our tiny room. Then ate our snacks and went to bed..
