The Bad Essay Party

The night finally arrived. Nick’s Birthday party. For those who don’t already know, everyone who was invited were asked to write a bad essay for Nick. He has recently started a job a SLCC as a professor of Film. He teaches a lot of young students who, to put it lightly,  have not yet found their voices.
Karl dressed as a bad Esse for the occasion.

It was a really great time. We all had a ton of fun.

The assigned topic for our assignment was a film student’s review of Ground Hog Day.
The essay’s ranged from Papa Hite’s over zealous murderously misguided review to Karl’s epistolary  version. I wrote mine with a high school cheer leader in mind. Rachel Reddoch wrote hers, then put it through google translator, from english to Welsh then back again. Betsy had a couple of new people in the group. Corrine and Paul, who were good friends of hers from Orange County. Paul wrote his to in verse to be sung to “I Got You Babe.” I recorded the whole thing digitally for posterity. It was comedy.

While all of this was happening, Mirah was having a blast and being cute with Megan and Carter’s little boy Jack.

They were so cute.
We had cheese cake with a variety of delicious toppings. Betsy even made an amazing blueberry compote.

Happy Birthday Nick!

  1. The party was so fun and your essay was a winner. Though Karl's made me drop more swears (and on the record!) than I have in years in the span of like 10 seconds, it was still comedy gold.

Just one correction, my friend is Corinne (not Camille). Her husband is in fact Paul. Since this is on the record, I thought you'd like to know 🙂
