What better way to start Valentines day, than a photo shoot?
It was cold out, and Lucas was OVER it. So we headed in…
Where Karl was busy making heart shaped pancakes.
Our gifts to the kids:
We gave them emoji m&m’s and new chocolate mugs for our new Sunday tradition of hot coco and cinnamon toast.
Their valentine boxes.
Mirah’s, the same since preschool. We decided it’s the last year for this box.
We had a few minutes, so they opened their gifts.
Karl and I opened our gifts.
Mirah and “Lucas” made us little bookmarks with love notes on them. It is the kind of thing that I treasure. So cute.
I dropped Mirah off at the bus, and took Lucas to school where he dropped off his valentine box.
Picking him up with a box full of cards and candy was a very happy moment for my love Lucas.
As soon as I had my boy, I headed over to a French bakery in Lindon Karl had found. They don’t open until noon, so we headed over ASAP. I got us some pane au chocolate, crossasunts, a mille feuille, and a strawberry tart.
Funny story, when I got home, I found that Karl had been there, had gone to a different French Bakery in Provo, and had purchased some pane au chocolate, crossasunts, and a Tiramisù. He had also purchased me a dozen pink roses that sat next to the orchid that I got for him. Great minds I guess.
Mirah got home from school, also loaded with cards, candy, and lots of stories. She had a party at school, and lots of fun with friends.
Gradnma Hite had sent us all valentines day cards, and we had fun getting them in the mail and opening them.
Karl got home a little early, and we ate our pastries with the kids while we talked about our days.
My mom had SWEETLY offered to take the kids at her house for the night. So we went out to see her, dropped off a Valentine, and the babies, and headed home.
We usually get a hotel, but this time, for the first time, did a night at home. I have to say, I LOVED it. it was pure magic.
Karl made me my favorite meal. Steak and potatoes. We had cold fresh Martinelli’s.
With no kids present, we dug into our desserts.
It was a magical night. Then sleeping in the next morning? forget it. It was incredible.
