The day started as most Sunday’s do. We went to church. (It was stake conference, so we were in the Primary room watching on a TV)
Mirah made Karl a thing…
I came home from church and had a nap…while eating a piece of valentines candy.
When I woke up from my nap, things took a different turn. For the FUN!
Betsy had plans to go to a show with her boyfriend Chris. They would be out until late, so the kids were going to stay with us, OVER NIGHT!!
Everyone had been looking forward to this for weeks. The kids arrived and we got down to the importnant work of playing games. After some video game time, we played Kingdom Builder with the boys…
They weren’t competitive, but they mostly got the rules, and really enjoyed it.
I had two team mates, Rosy and Ginger. Karl and Lucas were a team too.
The game we had, has a bunch of expansions, and they boys were interested in some of the alternate rules.
After games we had dinner of veggies, dip, and quesadillas. We had chicken, beef, and cheese.
After dinner was cleaned up we had hot coco and cinnamon toast as tradition dictates.
Before bed we all played a round of Apples to Apples Jr.
The kids all slept downstairs. I read them Harry Potter, and they were MOSTLY asleep when I was done. Asher had a hard time getting settled down. But at 11:30 we gave him a melatonin and that did it.
Apparently at about 2:30 everyone but the girls was awake again, they were shooed back to bed, and at 6:30 we all up again. I was up with them by 7:00, and the party was full on down there.
You can see it all in their sweet faces, no one was rested, but everyone was happy.
The girls requested pan cakes, so before he went to work, Karl made the group pan cakes.
Betsy arrived at noon after a morning of playing and fighting, and tears, and laughter.
We wanted to keep the fun going, so we went out to the Museum of Ancient life for some good times.
There was a new hunt…the Little Leprechaun.
We of course spent lots of time in the water room.
We found the Leprechaun!
Got our gold coin prizes…
And said a fond farewell, with promises to see each other again soon.
Only a few items left to remember them by:
COUSINS FOREVER!!!
