No More Oxygen Tube!!!

In the movie Nicolas Nicholby, Nicholas says to Smike,
“We have landed in strange times.”
And Smike quickly relies,
“Yes, but wondrous strange.”

I guess I feel like that. It is strange to me that my body is producing milk like a cow, but it is wonderful that I can feed out little baby, and give her everything and more than formula.

It is strange that it has now been almost a month since I have been out of work. But wonderful that I have been able to be home with our little Mirah.

It is strange that Mirah is nearly 4 weeks old, and as of today, of off of oxygen. That is simply wonderful!!!

When we bathed her last week, it was time to change her face stickers and the leads for her monitor, so we got a little glimps of her with out all that stuff:

We couldn’t help getting out the camer, and kissing her little face!

Then, on Friday we went in for a visit, after turing down her oxygen to the lowest setting (1/32) and the doc said we were good to go for our last oxygen trial!

The moment we got the green light we took off her tube. You see little Mirah’s skin was starting to react to the tubes and we were anxious to get them off of her:

Still super cute though, huh?

Poor little dear, her baby acne has spread to her sholders. We asked the doctor, and he said it was normal and should go away soon. 🙁

As of Sunday, looking much better:

Here she is, chilling in her swing.

Fun side note:
Karl decided he would not shave his beard until she was off of oxygen.
So, Sunday night he shaved it off, in phases:

He looks so young with out his beard.

Also on Sunday, Cameron and Kelly stopped by for a visit!

Cam is really good with little babies:

Kelly helped get her all cleaned up!

Thanks to everyone who has prayed and fasted for our little girl.
She is doing great!

  1. Allie, She is beautiful. I am so happy everything is going smoothly now. She really has such a darling chubby little newborn face. And look at all that hair! You are lucky parents. I'm so happy for the two of you, I can't wait to see her in person. Congrats again!!! 🙂
