Ok, so one of the hippie things that we like to do every now and then is called Urban Foraging. It is basically going to looked over places where berries and fruite grow unnoticed in the city, or neighborhood. Well it is something we talk about all the time, but don’t so as much as we would like to.
Any way, I was walking home from my Primary Presidency meeting, I noticed that an apartment complex across the street from us had two cherrie trees that were bursting with fruite ready to be picked. All the fruit that was right above the side walk was picked, but everything that was directly out of reach was still there. I rushed home and gathered some recrutes in ready for picking.
Karl was up the tree licitly split!
The weather has been really crazy today. It started out warm and sunny, then turned windy, wet and humid. There has been lightning and thunder and rainbows and all sorts of weather. The rain will start all of a sudden, and within seconds you are totally soaked. I got caught in it no more than 5 times today. Twice at work, (once while with a client) once on my way to my Primary meeting, once while we were picking, and the on our way home. The pictures reflect how much rain and moister there was in the air today. IT WAS GLORIOUS!
CHERRIES!!! Fresh from the tree!
As Karl climbed higher and higher up the tree, we got more and more creative in our catching.
Some friends from the ward, Lizzy and Nick met us out side and helped in the endeavor!
It seemed that we had gotten what we could so Karl shimmied his way down the tree.
Karen, “Take my picture!”
While out our home teacher snagged us and gave us some cookies.
The street was full of people because while I was gathering helpers, a fire started at one of the houses on the block, so there were fire trucks and cops all over the place.
As we headed back the clouds parted again and we were soaked!
Spoils of the day!
Hooray for friends, foraging, and rainy days!
