Hot Air Ballons, Hot dog, and Hot Burritos

The Time, 5:00 AM on a Saturday. I have stayed up until midnight the night before.
Getting up that morning was very difficult. Although I have been able to to that with out much effort for the past three years, I think the last couple of months has made me lazy.

And why would I get up so early on a Saturday morning? Simple. It was Zac Whimore’s 26th birthday. We took him out to an early breakfast a few years ago, but this year we wanted to kick it up a notch.

5:34 AM, we burst into Zac’s bed room (Krysta was in on the plot) and got him down stairs on he bike. Here we are at 5:45, biking out for an adventure:

5:50 AM: On Freedom Blvd, waiting for a train. We got these sweet balloons for Zac to keep on his bike for the day. You can’t read it, but the big balloon says, “Have a Rainbow Birthday” and with Care Bears dancing around it.
Flash forward, our own little Kare Bear, accidentally let them out the window. : )

6:40 AM :We road the 8 + mile out to Springville middle school where we arrived at the…

Balloon Fest.

That’s right a hot air balloon festival.

We were there as it began. People were just laying out balloons.

There were a dozen hot air balloons going up. Karen and I even got to touch one as it inflated!

7:20 AM :As they rose slowly into the air they dropped candy and prizes down onto everyone, I got some slat water taffy.

This piggy bank balloon was really cute too.

7:40 AM: One of the last balloons gets ready to take off, you can feel the heat from the giant flames. Karl loved it.

7:45 AM: We road home, almost stopped at a fireman’s breakfast, but opted for Village Inn instead. We douged Utah Valley Marathon people on our way home.

10:00 AM: Karl and I were out. We napped until 12:30, and went to go and see Krysta. Zac was at work for the day. Which was a bit of a bummer. We met for lunch though. J Dogz. A Provo classic.
5:30 PM: We all headed out to the home depot. Krysta and I got a bunch of new plants for the garden, and the boys get stuff to build a sweet new bike for Zac. (This project was his birthday present. I will eventually have pictures of the finished project.)

7:30 PM Krysta and I got busy with the garden. We wanted to give Zac time to work on his bike. Karl built us a first rate bird deflector to keep those dang birds our of our strawberries.

9:30 PM: We finally got to stopping points in our projects and headed out to dinner at a place that Zac loves. Here are Karl and I:

Mountain West Burrito:

A cool thing about them:

They only use organic free range chicken, as well as only local beef. It was a great place, I am sad we have missed it all this time!

Karl ordered a Giant Steak Burrito, and it was HUGE!

Karen, enjoying chips and Guacamole:

10:00 PM: Zac opened presents, and told him happy birthday songs individually, because he wouldn’t let us sing to him.

Thoroughly tired and happy, we went to bed.
Happy birthday Zac!
