The Baby Boys

So the first thing that we did when we arrived in California was meet up with our lovely sister Betsy! She had had a really busy couple of weeks, she got sealed, had a couple of babies, and even had major surgery on top of all of that. (A c-section)

We picked Bets up at the train station and drove right over to the Hospital.

You have to be with a parent to get in, and usually they only let one visitor per parent in so we were lucky to be let on in.

My I introduce the boys:
The young adorable little man, Mr. Asher James:

and of course the cutie patootie hansom Mr Judah West.

They are even cuter when they are awake!

There were a lot of these kinds of faces that day:

Everything in the NICU was so little, tiny hats, tiny blankets, look at this tiny stethoscope:

Tiny oxygen masks:

That’s my pointer finger, ok?

Tiny little baby humans:
Look at Asher’s foot next to Karl’s hand!

Wrinkly baby elephant knees!

While we were there, they told us that Asher was for sure coming home that day! It was a likely possibility when we arrived, but there was no guarantee, so we were so honored to be there with Betsy. We got to drive them home!

First however, we had to get him dressed, which proved to be be more difficult than any of us imagined. He was so little first of all. Second, he wouldn’t hold still. At this point, we lost his arm and couldn’t find it:

Besty, the amazing mom that she is, finally accomplished her goal. Doesn’t he look so great?

I got to hold him for the first time while Besty fed Judah!!!

He was so little!

Then he did this:

Karl of course took a turn, he was in love.

I love this picture of Betsy feeding baby Judah. She is such a great mom!

One last bottle before we left. He held his moms hand.

This was a really interesting contraption that fed little Judah through his feeding tube. It is actual breast milk, cool huh?

We buckled the little guy in:

And he was set and ready to go!

Funny thing, even though Betsy walked into the hospital, she was wheeled out:

Asher was still a patient, so he had to be pushed out.

We arrived in Oceanside a little while later and Nick was excitedly waiting for us.

They were home!

A cute little family, with one of their boys at home, FINALLY!
That was Wednesday, Judah was home by Friday, but we will get to more of that later.
