So this week Mirah had an assignment to round out the unit that they are working on at school: Heroes in Our Community. 

One of the things that heroes in our community do is recycle! Of the many suggestions her teacher gave, she chose to make a seed started out of recycled materials. 

First we found the materials we needed:

Yes an empty egg carton.

Next she and Lucas decorated it.

Next she and her dad found a bunch of seads from last year, decided which seeds they would plant, and they label the spots.

They then planted the seeds.

They are now growing happily in the window in the front room.

She has loved doing this project with her dad. She is so cute, and smart. I am so proud of how hard she worked on this one.
