It was another rainy morning. But it was Saturday, and we had electricity, and our little cabin was nice and warm and cozy. The ancient apple orchard was so green. The rain seemed to make everything so bright even though it was so gloomy out.
I went out on the porch to sit and get some fresh air.
Bathroom time…then it was time to try and get a fire going to make some breakfast.
Good thing rain boots and coats go right over pajamas.
These little cuties were having fun running around in the rain.
Karl had brought a blow torch, so getting the fire going, with our dry wood, wasn’t that tough. BUT who wants eat wet toasted bagels?
We talked to the owner, and he showed us that there was another fire pit over at the pavilion and that we could us that one instead. Karl figured, we already had a fire going, why not just move it to the other pit.
Haha.
Almost made it.
We moved our grate over, and we were in business.
We cut and toasted our bagels. Then slathered them in whipped cream cheese.
Lucas was less interested in the bagels, and more interested in being cute.
A fun note, Karl had forgotten his packed bag on the bed at the house. SO his water proof boots and extra pairs of dry wool socks were just sitting at home, and his poor feet were soaked. After breakfast, we went back in and dried his socks.
Then, we packed up again, and headed back out.
We were off to see the slot canyon, and we were all very excited.
