28 is Grrreat!

Yes, it is that time of the year again. My birthday.
My favorite day of the year!
The day was epic from start to finish, so here is a picture from my pirate party to jump off with:

Dev and Sam. Me and Karl. Karen. Alicia and Adam. Krysta and Zac. Graham.
So, it was Friday. I had considered taking the whole day off, but we are trying to save days for our big trip this summer so I held off and took a half day instead. I always wake up early and excited on my birthday. I got up showered. As I was blow drying my hair there was a knock on the door. It was Karen. She told me, “Happy birthday Pippy! There is a surprise down stairs for you.”
As I walked down the stairs there was a sign:

(hop toad is a Pippy Long Stocking reference)
This is what awaited me:

Thats right, my friends arrived to take me to breakfast in a Pirate ship!
Graham, Zac, and me on the ride over to Guru’s.

Here is a close up of what Zac did to himself:
Photobucket
He had shaved himself a little gotee, cut off the sleeves of his shirt and given himself an awesome tattoo.
Now a closeup of the Hop-toad:
Photobucket
It had cannons and when the wheels turned they made waves!
Photobucket
Also there was a…lady on the front!
Karl and I, waiting for Guru’s to open.

Quick story. I am off all staches carbs, and sugurs. The other morning we woke up and could smell that our neighbors were making pancakes. I rolled over to Karl and said, “They are making pancakes, I bet they are really happy.”
It has become an instant joke, well, on my birthday, I had me some pancakes. Not just any pancakes, Guru’s blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. I was really happy.

I left work around 1, and met up with Krysta, Zac and Karen for lunch. We went to what we thought was a waffle house, but was more a dessert crepe place with Belgian waffles.
Photobucket
Karen and I chatted while we waited for our lunch.
Photobucket
Mostly about how were were both wearing awesome sun glasses.
Photobucket
Then Krysta, Karen, and I went and got pedicures.
Photobucket
This picture dosen’t even show how cute she was. She hated the stuff between her toes.

Once the boys got home from work, we headed over to The Pizza factory. We were all dressed up as Pirates. We were going to go to Pirate Island, but the food isn’t very good. So we went to the best pizza place in town.
Karen as a Pirate.

Dev and Sam as “the friendly natives”
Photobucket
Alicia and Adam. Alicia as a Pirate, Adam as a computer hacker. He brought his Ipod which allegedly had some pirated songs.
Photobucket
Graham and Zac.

Zac, Krysta and Karen.
Photobucket
And of course, Me, and Karl as a Somali Pirate.
Photobucket
One of the greatest things about Pizza Factory is their bread sticks.
Photobucket
We also got some cinnamon bread sticks with butter cream dipping sauce.
Photobucket
Then came presents!
Photobucket
A beautiful bracelet from Deve and Sam
An awesome new necklace from my mom.
Photobucket
Among other things, some sweet handkerchiefs, and stickers from the Whitmores. Karen got mad at me at this point. She thought my mom had sent them, and she wanted them.
Photobucket
Oh yes, couple of WILDLY inappropriate cards from friends:
Photobucket
Alicia’s had something to do with toasted nuts…yikes guys.
Alicia got me this seriously awesome t-shirt making kit.
Photobucket
Grandma Neal even sent me a lovely card with a little present inside!
Photobucket
Thanks everyone for such awesome gifts, and all the love that they represent!
We headed over to Nickel City. The land of a thousand delights.
We all got busy working tickets. Especially Alicia. She was seriously amazing. She won nearly 600 with in the first 20 minutes!
Photobucket
Karen was just being super cute.
Photobucket
Karl, Dev and I played this one together for Branny. Love you kid!
Photobucket
Graham and Zac, were super into this.
Photobucket
Me and Dev, playing DDR.

Photobucket
LAZER TAG! Out team totally dominated! Red team is the winner.
Photobucket
It turns our Adam is a DDR champ!
Photobucket
The night was getting late, and the tickets were plentiful.
Photobucket
Photobucket
We lined up to the counter, and traded our tickets form something amazing!
Photobucket
Everyone pitched in so we could get this lot!
We got home at around 10:30. We were hot and sweaty so we tried to go to Seven Peaks to cool off. There was a night swim going on, but our season passes didn’t get us in, and it was super creepy, so we left.
Photobucket
When we got home, Karl and I sat down at the computer and finally did it.
We bought our ticket and hotel stay to New York City!
We have been planning this trip forever, and we finally bought the tickets.
We will be going for 8 days in August to celebrate our 5th Anniversary!
Thanks to everyone for making this such a special day!
