After lunch, back to Adam and Belle’s place. These cuties.
The kids, happy to be with Ruby again.
RUBY!
Did you know? Adam commissioned this? He had it made for Belle.
We then started our short Mural tour of their neighborhood.
We started with the best one, Resilience.
While we were out, we saw some Breaking Bad locations, AND we passed the Breaking Bad tour bus.
We cut the tour short, to go to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.
Where we had been learning about the ancient Pueblo Peoples, it was really cool to see the works of the modern Pueblo.
The area where we learned about their dances, was maybe my favorite part, especially watching Lucas try and dance along.
The pottery is just lovely. This one. painted with Yucca leave brush was just incredible.
Then we got to the kids area, where you could build with blocks…and the kids spent nearly an hour there.
It was just what we needed.
time to scream and play.
There was some fighting about who could build what, and some tears about my blocks and yours…but it was really fun.
Like I said, we spent nearly an hour there.
The story tellers…oh my goodness, I love to look at them. But I hate to look at them.
The exhibit goes on to see lots of other things. To when the Spanish came in a made everyone convert.
Then some art.
Then we went to the gift shop and got the kids these juniper seed necklaces. Mesa Verde was full of Juniper trees. I love the smell of them when it rains. These necklaces are actually Navajo in origin, they are meant to ward off bad dreams.
After the museum. we took a walk to the Rio Grande, where Adam and Belle often walk.
It was seriously so lovely. There were these cute little birds with white beaks in the ponds near the river.
Spring was in full bloom!
The day was still windy, but it was so great.
Too bright.
Dinner was here, at this hipster Mexican bakery:
We got some Green Chili bread and a pizza.
We also went to a local Mexican Market called El Super and got a Tres Leche cake and Agua Fresca.
We put the kids to bed, and stayed up playing games. It was pretty magical.
