We waited just as long as we could…but October is TOMORROW! So Lucas and I spent the morning getting Halloween decorations out and ready to put up with Mirah came home.
We were excited to go out back and FINALLY pick the pumpkins we grew this year. Three of the four grown survived. And they we happily harvested by these hyper kids.
We did two varieties, Cinderella and another one.
Mirah was excited to cut the Cinderella one, so she was happy to bring me my kitchen sheers. The kids had found their Halloween basket pumpkins that Grandma Hite had made them, and decided that they needed to wear them around their necks while we labored.
The other type of pumpkin was just a big orange guy, Lucas next to it for scale:
I cut this big one.
We had found carving tools in the Halloween stuff, and Lucas just suddenly appeared with it as I had finished cutting this guy off the vine.
All set out and ready for Halloween.
The kids found my ever popular ghost and kitty Halloween toys, and decided to have them in the picture.
Mirah being a scary cat.
Lucas telling me about the ghost.
Then Lucas being a scary ghost.
Ah! Look at those eyelashes!
We listened to Halloween music and decorated the house. Zoey the puppy’s family came and brought treats in Halloween boxes and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies as a thank you for taking her. It is officially Fall Halloween Harvest time!
