Some of the Fruits of Our Labors

Not all of our conference weekend stuff was totally heavy eating. Between sessions on Saturday Karl and I made another batch of frozen tomatoes.

We have so many tomatoes these days. This is my third batch of blanched and prepared tomatoes.
Rinse.
Split the bottom.
Through them into bowling water for 30 sec to a minute.
Pull out of the boiling water with a slotted spoon and put into ice cold water. I was actually taught how to do this by a woman named Besa on my mission. I did have to look online for a refresher course but I remembered pretty well.
Then you peel.
Once they are peeled, seed then and put them into chunks.
Finally vacuum seal them and put them into the freezer.
Hooray for frozen tomatoes. They will eventually be used for spaghetti sauce, and other winter tomato treats. Krysta and I will share of course, it should make lots though.
